Annual Conference of Association of Occupational Health (AOH), Jamnagar branch -GUJCON 2023 with theme “Workplace Well being – Challenges and Opportunities in Post Pandemic Scenario” was organized on 10th & 11th June 2023 at Hotel The Fern Residency, Jamnagar. Cultural program with Gala Dinner was organized on 10th June 2023.
Conference was inaugurated by Shri P M Shah, Director, Industrial Safety & Health, Labour Skill Development & Employment Department, Government of Gujarat and Dean, Sh M. P. Shah Govt Medical College, Jamnagar Dr. Nandini Desai, IAOH Past President Dr. R. Professional Development Courses were organized on 10th June on topic 1. Basics of Occupational Health & 2. Basic Trauma Life Support.
Scientific program consisting of scientific sessions on Occupational & Clinical subjects, Orations, Scientific papers were arranged in this conference. Imminent faculties in field of medical & occupational health were invited to deliver sessions. JOSH Oration was given to Dr. (Major) Bishwadeep Paul, Senior Director & Regional OH Leader (India, Middle East & Africa), Procter & Gamble & President of IAOH for his outstanding contribution in the field of Occupational Health. Dhirubhai Ambani Oration for Excellence in Medical Field was given to Dr. Mridul Sharma, Senior Interventional Cardiologist at Sterling Hospital, Rajkot for his excellent outstanding contribution in the medical field.
Cultural program – Musical night by Mr Sunil Menon & team was enjoyed by delegates and their family member.

Dhirubhai Ambani Oration for Excellence in Medical Field was given to Dr Gustad Daver, Medical Director Sir H N Reliance Foundation Hospital for his excellent outstanding contribution in the medical field. Dr M A Santwani Memorial Medal for Best Scientific Paper was given to Dr Aditya Paliwal, Chief Medical Officer – RIL – PMD. Scientific program was appreciated by delegates.

More than 60 doctors participated.
CME was organized on 29th June 2019 by inviting super specialists, from Mumbai, Neurophysician Dr Manish Chhabaria on approach to acute stroke, Endocrinologist Dr David chandy on understanding of thyroid tests, Oncosurgeon Dr Krunal on early detection of cancers. 35 members participated in these interactive CMEs.
Occupational health awareness program was organized on 02 June 2019 at brass part industry, Dared, Jamnagar. Basic of occupational health, first aid measures, Importance of PPEs, Heat stress inducted illnesses discussed in this session. 140 workers benefitted by this session.
AOH Jamnagar branch has organized the 69th Annual National Conference of Indian Association of the Occupational Health, OCCUCON 2019, from 9th to 12th January 2019 at Rajkot with the theme of - “Achieving Vision Zero through Basic Occupational Health Services (BOHS)”
Honorable Minister of Labour & Employment, State of Gujarat, Sh. Dilipkumar Thakor inaugurated this grand events i.e. OCCUCON 2019 on 9th Jan 2019. On this occasion eminent personalities like Sh. Parimalbhai Nathwani, MP Rajyashabha, State of Jharkhand, with other dignitaries accompanied Hon Minister. National as well as International delegates participated and witnessed this grand inauguration.
During this period, from 9th to 12th, varieties of sessions like sessions on lifestyle management, mental health, Occupational health, Industrial hygiene, various medical and surgical emergencies e.g. Trauma management, Burns management, management of head & spine injury, Asthma, cancer, cardiac emergencies, besides symposiums like best practices in safety and health in industries, disaster management, woman empowerment, and discussion about newer advance like heart transplant, robotic surgery, and interactive quiz on occupational and clinical health etc were organized.
